Mission and Ministry
Christ Lutheran Preschool supports our church’s mission by extending ministry to young children and their families, offering a nurturing environment grounded in Christian values. With a focus on strong academics, our program provides daily opportunities for children to grow spiritually and academically. Through engaging lessons and activities, we encourage children to explore faith in a loving, Christ-centered setting.

TK (Transitional Kindergarten)
Christ Lutheran’s Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is designed to give young children turning five by December 31st the structured support they need to thrive in kindergarten. For children not yet ready for a full kindergarten classroom, TK offers a thoughtfully tailored educational program led by a qualified kindergarten teacher in a small-group setting, allowing for personalized attention and developmentally appropriate guidance.
Through a balanced mix of individual instruction and group activities, TK students are immersed in daily experiences that strengthen foundational skills in key areas, including language, reading, math, science, music, art, practical life, and computer skills. These activities not only nurture early academic abilities but also emphasize social-emotional learning, language and literacy, and fine motor development—essential skills that are critical for a successful kindergarten transition.
While TK follows the California Kindergarten Standards, the focus is on exploration and practice, not mastery. This gentle approach helps children build confidence in their abilities while ensuring they progress at a comfortable pace. Upon completing TK, students are well-prepared to enter a kindergarten classroom the following school year with the confidence and foundational skills needed to succeed in an academic kindergarten environment such as Christ Lutheran.
